Dragon Flies II is built on glass into an antique wooden gold-tone frame. The structure is created out curled birch bark strips, multiple colors of reindeer moss, dried savoy cabbage leaves, and grape vine tendrils. Dried white orchids, narcissus and dried baked magnolia leaves give the dragon flies nest an aura of delicacy. Vintage brass dragon fly broaches swarm the nest. The sculpture is constructed with wood glue, glazed with lacquer and painted with pearlized paint pigments to enhance the natural hues.
