THE SUN ~ Mary Oliver, 1992
Have you ever seen
anything
in your life
more wonderful
than the way the sun,
every evening,
relaxed and easy,
floats toward the horizon
and into the clouds or the hills,
or the rumpled sea,
and is gone –
and how it slides again
out of the blackness,
every morning,
on the other side of the world,
like a red flower
streaming upward on its heavenly oils,
say, on a morning in early summer,
at its perfect imperial distance –
and have you ever felt for anything
such a wild love –
do you think there is anywhere, in any language,
a word billowing enough
for the pleasure
that fills you,
as the sun
reaches out,
as it warms you
as you stand there.
empty-handed –
or have you too
turned from the world –
or have you too
gone crazy
for power,
for things?
Gallery owners, art collectors, and decorators will find my artistic approach well-centered in the tradition of both fine and decorative art that celebrates nature.
My paintings, mixed-media compositions, and sculptures capture the essence of a natural object or context through impressionistic or abstract representation.
I believe compositions depicting natural objects and phenomena can bring serenity to any setting.
GalleryMy art work – which brings nature inside — is at home in formal and informal settings. I welcome commissions and custom work. Having been a producer-designer of media for four decades, artistic collaboration with a wide range of collectors and decorators is appealing and exciting to me.
I am particularly interested in working with individual clients, who desire unique artwork for special occasions such as installations, centerpieces, and artwork to enhance particular settings including homes, shops, businesses, restaurants, and event spaces.
