Phosphorescent Night Sea is a painting on glass that has multiple layers of paint to raise the image of the waves in-relief. Transparent gloss adds the glimmer effect of phosphorescence in the ocean reflected by natural light in the night sky. The many layers of paint create a feeling of movement and drama in the waves as tiny microbes of algae are jostled about by the tide and light up the horizon.
Utilizing pigmented inks and the highest resolution and widest gamut printer available, Sohn Fine Art produces stunning works of exhibition quality pigment prints (also known as giclee prints). The paper/substrate I use is Innova Cold Press 315 gsm – Natural White, Textured Watercolor; or Hahnmuhle German Etching 315 gsm - Bright White, Textured Watercolor -- depending on the colors and textures dictated by the painting.
Prints can be produced at any custom size up to 44”X 48”. All images include a ½” to 1” border (depending on the image size). Special orders of prints on fabric can also be arranged. Prints are made on demand and take 2-4 weeks for delivery.
