Pussy Willows in Spring Shower uses the Reverse Painting technique to create a three dimensional effect of looking through heavy rain at a Pussy Willow in full bloom. This painting incorporates water-based opalescent pigments to heighten the effect of the luminescent silver tufted buds (these buds blossom – known as catkins for their resemblance to cat paws) and the bright green sprouts of the willow on the brink of Spring.
Utilizing pigmented inks and the highest resolution and widest gamut printer available, Sohn Fine Art produces stunning works of exhibition quality pigment prints (also known as giclee prints). The paper/substrate I use is Innova Cold Press 315 gsm – Natural White, Textured Watercolor; or Hahnmuhle German Etching 315 gsm - Bright White, Textured Watercolor -- depending on the colors and textures dictated by the painting.
Prints can be produced at any custom size up to 44”X 48”. All images include a ½” to 1” border (depending on the image size). Special orders of prints on fabric can also be arranged. Prints are made on demand and take 2-4 weeks for delivery.
