White Delphinium Redux ~ Nature Morte

White Delphinium Redux is a Still Life (Nature Morte) reimagined.  The composition is built into a French blue shadow box frame. The delicate arrangement of dried white delphinium flowers, lavender stems and dried baked magnolia leaves flow out of an antique pottery fragment. The background is painted fabric glued to a board with singular petals falling as though a wind is blowing.  The vase sits in an outdoor structure made of moss, fungi, straw flower and blue delphinium petals and succulent flowers.   The sculptural elements are secured with wood glue, pearlized paint pigment is applied to embellishment elements; and, finally, the composition is glazed with clear lacquer for preservation and enhancement.
