Night-Blooming Cereus (Limited Edition Print)

Night-Blooming Cereus is a painting on glass that has multiple layers of paint to enhance the textures of this magnificent plant that blooms but once a year at night. Opalescent pigments added to the transparent gloss enhance the shimmery petals and stamen. The many layers of paint raise the image in-relief. Strokes of gold leaf embellish the striking display of winding stems against the deep blue night sky background – painted on the backside of the glass to add dimension.
Utilizing pigmented inks and the highest resolution and widest gamut printer available, Sohn Fine Art produces stunning works of exhibition quality pigment prints (also known as giclee prints). The paper/substrate I use is Innova Cold Press 315 gsm – Natural White, Textured Watercolor; or Hahnmuhle German Etching 315 gsm - Bright White, Textured Watercolor -- depending on the colors and textures dictated by the painting.
Prints can be produced at any custom size up to 44”X 48”. All images include a ½” to 1” border (depending on the image size). Special orders of prints on fabric can also be arranged. Prints are made on demand and take 2-4 weeks for delivery.
